Trousdale typically invests alongside strong management teams that continue to guide their organizations on a day-to-day basis. Our investments can range from $3 to $30 million, and vary in the level of ownership in order to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and management teams. Our mandate is flexible and allows us to invest in software companies at varying stages of growth, so we approach every situation with an open mind and create customized investment structures to match different business models or transaction types.

Trousdale seeks to directly source investment and add-on opportunities by engaging in a meticulous process of researching market niches and developing relationships with management teams over an extended period of time. This deliberate and patient, bottom-up approach provides insight into the next generation of industry-leading companies, market dynamics, business models, and management execution capabilities.

We assist our leadership teams to pursue strategic acquisitions that broaden product suites and accelerate roadmaps, open up new territories globally, and consolidate markets transforming the competitive landscape. These activities enable our portfolio companies to further enhance their scale and profitability. We manage the entire process including sourcing, negotiation, diligence, and financing.

Trousdale beleives in an analytically rigorous approach to sales & marketing. We pay very close attention to SaaS metrics across different customer segments and cohorts, and pride ourselves in our use of data to help drive business strategy. Our goal is to make strategic recommendations around go-to-market strategy that increase sales & marketing efficiency.

Nima shahian

Managing partner
Founding General Partner

Nima is a Founder, Partner and Member of Trousdale’s Investment Committee, where he is involved in all aspects of firm oversight, strategic direction, deal origination, investment activity and operational execution. Nima brings tremendous experience to Trousdale from his significant involvement in over 20+ growth equity investments, acquisitions and divestitures over the course of his career and his broad-based experience helping establish his former firm.

Prior to founding Trousdale, Nima helped build Arrowroot Capital, where he originated and led investments in software and technology-enabled services businesses. Prior thereto, Nima worked with Lazard in their Mergers & Acquisitions advisory group.

Nima holds a B.S in Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
